Cases covered by the CICA scheme.
From violent assault, to rape and murder, the CICA scheme is
here to help you...
The CICA scheme is designed to compensate the victims of violent
assaults, sexual abuse, rapes, domestic violence, and other forms
of physical abuse.
Each case is very different, but if you were a victim of an unprovoked
assault, you may be eligible.
Detailed below are a few example cases from our client files:
Example Case 1 - Award : £5,150.00
Client was the victim of a random attack in the street in which
injuries were caused to his legs.
Example Case 2 - Award : £2,000.00
Client was the victim of violence in her home. The applicant
received various injuries leaving visible scarring. The original
decision was a rejection from the CICA as they felt that the medical
evidence did not support the injuries. The decision was overturned
at review, based on further medical evidence and an award was
made.
Example Case 3 - Award : £1,000.00
Secondary Victim, £2,000.00 main applicant
''This is a case where a child was the victim of an indecent
assault by her stepfather. The mother submitted a claim for her
and her child. The mother's claim was accepted as a secondary
victim as she had to deal with the aftermath of the event and
the trauma that had been caused to her child.
Example Case 4 - Award : £5885.00
Client was a shopkeeper at the time. His assailants entered the
shop and assaulted him. He is of Asian background and the incident
was racially motivated. The CICA made an initial award to the
client for his injuries. However, this offer was low. As the applicant
experienced on going medical problems, the case was taken to review
and as a result of the review process the award was increased.
Example Case 5 - Award : £3,300.00
''Client was at home when intruders broke into the home address
and assaulted her. She sustained various physical injuries.
